This magazine is targeted at teenage boys and girls who enjoy football and would like to know what is going on within the football community. The cover is filled with male footballers that young people would look up to especially boys.

  1. Describe how the person on the front cover looks—use adjectives
The front cover has five of the biggest premier league footballers on it. All of the players look passionate about the game. You can see the true emotions on the faces of the players. Three players are shouting in happiness, two players from lower achieving teams with their hands on their faces, the pictures really capture these epic football moment.  The player’s pictures are surrounding the premier league trophy which is what they are all fighting for.

  1. Magazine covers are also considered advertisements. What are the techniques that this magazine uses to sell their magazine to their readers?

They have made their magazine stand out compared to many other magazines because they have made it bright, multi-coloured, bold and eye-catching towards a bystander. They have put top players and the trophy on the cover which would make football fans more interested to know what is inside the magazine. One of the top players is stroking a lion on the cover as well which will make people curious and want to know more.

  1. Does the front page convey responsible messages to the target audience? Say why or why not.
The cover does convey a responsible message to the target audience, because there is no over aged or under aged activities or words displayed on the cover. It’s fit for all ages and shows passion for something you love. That’s why I think it conveys a responsible message.

The magazine has slight hints of what’s inside the magazine scattered around the cover. And it has famous footballers names on it to show that there will be something about them inside the magazine.

    1. The title: Match
Football matches are usually referred to as ‘the match’, so that makes the title very relevant to this genre of magazine.

  1. Do you think the cover will appeal to a potential reader? Explain how and why.
Yes the cover of the magazine will appeal to a potential reader because is bright, eye-catching and it will stand out amongst many other magazines. It has pictures of some of the most popular premier league players on the cover and that will influence peoples decisions on whether they should buy the magazine or not.

  1. How is it similar to titles in the same genre? How is it different?
Match is similar to other magazines within this genre because other football magazines try use the same structure and more or less have the same information on previous and upcoming matches. Match magazine has pages dedicated to teams and individuals whereas in many other football magazines they would not have pages dedicated to one thing. Match magazine focuses on mainly the English leagues especially the premier league and have some little parts about other leagues but in other football magazines they write about football world wide, for example world soccer magazine.
